DIED—At his home near New Douglas, Samuel Alsop, on Sunday the 17th. He was born in Quissington, Derbyshire, England, Feb. 25, 1812; came to America in 1834 and settled in the state of New Jersey, where he married Miss Salina Pegg, who survives him. In the death of Father Alsop we have lost a kind neighbor and friend, and the bereaved family have the sympathy of their many friends and acquaintances. R. F. L.
