  [S2518] Information - Ann Cookson, Mary Alsop; Email; 26 June 2023. My surname Cookson is my birth name and therefore my fathers name. The Alsop I mentioned is Mary Alsop who married my 2nd Great Grandfather John Logan, son of Mathias Logan and Catherine McGrath from Ireland. Mary Alsop was daughter of John Spence Alsop and Mary Martin. I am still working on this. The Cooksons I belong to are Dads father Thomas Morris Cookson and Eliza Abbott. Thomas was from Birkenhead and Eiza AKA Margaret Abbott from West Ham. Thomas and Eliza came to Australia in 1922 with dads sister, but dad was born here. I have traced Thomas' family to Great Meols at Cheshire, Joseph Cookson & Ellen Broadhurst and onto Canada with Joseph John Cookson Mayor and wife Lucy Smith whom he married in Canada. I was contact with a Denton Cookson in Canada and a DNA match, but sadly he has passed away. I will keep searching the Allsopp Tree and if I find any great breakthroughs, I will let you know.
